• Active Ingredient: Each tablet contains rivaroxaban, a direct factor Xa inhibitor that works as an anticoagulant to prevent and treat blood clots.

Indications

Xarelto 2.5 mg tablets are used in combination with low-dose aspirin to:

• Reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular death) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) or peripheral artery disease (PAD).
• Prevent major thrombotic vascular events in patients with PAD, including those who have undergone lower extremity revascularization (LER).

Instructions for Use

• Dosage: Take 1 tablet (2.5 mg) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart.
• Administration: Tablets can be taken with or without food.
• Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose—do not take two doses at the same time.
• Crushing Tablets: If you have difficulty swallowing tablets, they can be crushed and mixed with water or applesauce immediately before taking. Alternatively, crushed tablets can be administered via a nasogastric or gastric feeding tube after confirming correct placement. 
• Combination Therapy: Xarelto 2.5 mg is prescribed alongside low-dose aspirin (75–100 mg daily). In some cases, additional antiplatelet therapy (e.g., clopidogrel or ticlopidine) may be recommended.
