Atenolol 50 mg
 

Indications

• Indicated for management of hypertension, angina pectoris, post‑myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and migraine prophylaxis

 

Instructions

• Adults: Usually start at 25–50 mg once daily, adjust to 100 mg based on blood pressure and heart rate; for angina or post‑MI, may continue at 50–100 mg daily 

• Administration: Swallow tablet whole with water, with or without food, taken at same time each day 

• Precautions/Contraindications:

  • Avoid in bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, uncontrolled heart failure, severe hypotension, and bronchospastic disease 

  • Use cautiously in renal impairment (reduce dose) 

  • Monitor for side effects: fatigue, cold extremities, bradycardia; avoid abrupt discontinuation (risk of angina/arrhythmia rebound) .
