1% w/w Silver Sulphadiazine cream (silver sulfadiazine) in a topical base.

 

Indications

  • Used for the prevention and treatment of infections in second- and third-degree burns, fingertip injuries, infected leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers

 

Instructions

  • Adults & children (≥2 months): Apply a thin layer (1–5 mm) of cream once or twice daily, or as directed, until healing occurs. 

  • Application: Clean and debride the wound first, then apply the cream; cover with dressing if needed. Wash hands before and after use.

  • Precautions:

    • Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, neonates ≤2 months, extensive use in renal/hepatic impairment. 

    • Adverse effects: Skin irritation, rash, photosensitivity; rare cases of Stevens–Johnson syndrome or argyria with prolonged use. Monitor CBC, renal function if used long-term or on large areas.
