Mefenamic acid 500 mg

 

Indications

• Indicated for primary dysmenorrhoea (menstrual cramps) and relief of moderate pain, when treatment duration does not exceed one week

 

Instructions

• Adults (≥14 yrs): 500 mg three times daily, preferably with food; treatment should not exceed 7 days

• Administration: Swallow whole with water; take during or after meals to reduce gastric irritation .

• Precautions/Contraindications:

  • Do not use if allergic to mefenamic acid or other NSAIDs, or if you have asthma, nasal polyps, urticaria, active gastrointestinal ulcers or chronic GI inflammation, renal impairment, pregnancy, or breastfeeding 

  • Use with caution in cases of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, fluid retention, liver issues, or concurrent anticoagulant therapy; monitor for GI adverse effects like bleeding or ulcers
