Diphenoxylate hydrochloride 2.5 mg

Atropine sulfate 0.025 mg
 

Indications

• Adjunctive therapy in the management of diarrhea.

• To reduce the frequency and urgency of bowel movements.

• Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

 

Instructions

• Dosage:

  • Adults: Initially, 2 tablets 3–4 times daily. Maintenance: 2 tablets once daily as needed. Maximum: 8 tablets daily.

  • Children (≥13 years): Same as adult dose.

• Administration:

  1. Take tablets orally with or without food.

  2. Swallow whole; do not chew, crush, or break.

  3. Maintain adequate hydration during treatment.

• Precautions:

  • Contraindicated in patients with jaundice, pseudomembranous enterocolitis, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, myasthenia gravis, paralytic ileus, or prostatic enlargement.

  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly needed.

  • May cause drowsiness or dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
