Content
- Active Ingredient: Each millilitre contains 5 mg of loteprednol etabonate (0.5%).
- Excipient with Known Effect: Contains 0.01% benzalkonium chloride as a preservative.
- Appearance: Milky-white, sterile eye drop suspension.
Indications
- Primary Use: Treatment of post-operative inflammation following ocular surgery.
- Contraindications: Not to be used in patients with eye diseases caused by viruses (e.g., herpes simplex), mycobacteria, fungi, or untreated purulent infections.
- Paediatric Use: Not recommended for use in children and adolescents until further data become available.
Instructions
- Dosage: Instill 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) four times daily, starting 24 hours after surgery. Continue throughout the post-operative period, not exceeding 2 weeks.
- Administration: Shake the bottle vigorously before use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
- Contact Lenses: Remove contact lenses prior to application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
- Monitoring: If symptoms do not improve within 2 days, consult your doctor. Prolonged use may require monitoring of intraocular pressure.
