- Active Ingredient: Each film-coated tablet contains 4 mg of pitavastatin calcium (as pitavastatin calcium trihydrate).
- Excipients: Each tablet contains lactose monohydrate and other excipients.
- Appearance: The tablets are white, round, 8.2 mm in diameter, film-coated, and debossed with “4” on one side and “LIVALO” on the other.
Indications
- Primary Hyperlipidemia: As an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B (Apo B), triglycerides (TG), and to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in adult patients with primary hyperlipidemia.
- Mixed Dyslipidemia: For the treatment of adult patients with mixed dyslipidemia.
- Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HeFH): For the treatment of adult and pediatric patients aged 8 years and older with HeFH.
Instructions
- Dosage: The recommended starting dosage is 2 mg once daily, which may be adjusted based on individual response and treatment goals. The maximum recommended dosage is 4 mg once daily.
- Administration: Livalo may be taken at any time of the day, with or without food.
- Monitoring: Lipid levels should be assessed periodically to determine the effectiveness of therapy and to adjust the dosage if necessary.
- Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
- Storage: Store at controlled room temperature, between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
