Colchicine 0.5 mg
 

Indications:

• Treatment of acute gout

• Prophylaxis of recurrent gout

• Prevention of acute attacks during initial therapy with allopurinol and uricosuric drugs

 

Instructions:

• Administration:

  • Take orally with or without food.

  • Swallow tablets whole with water; do not chew or crush.

  • Maintain a consistent daily dosing schedule.

• Dosage:

  • Acute Gout:

    • Initially, 1 mg, then 0.5 mg every 2–3 hours until pain relief or until a total dose of 6 mg is reached.

    • Do not repeat the course of treatment within 3 days.

  • Prophylaxis:

    • 0.5 mg two or three times daily.

  • Pseudogout:

    • To relieve acute attack: 1–2 tablets every 2 hours until pain relief or until nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea occurs.

    • Prophylaxis: Depending on severity, up to 2 tablets daily.
