Indications:

Pizogran 0.5mg Tablet is indicated for the prophylactic (preventive) treatment of recurrent vascular headaches, including:

• Classical migraine

• Common migraine

• Cluster headache (also known as periodic migrainous neuralgia)

It is important to note that Pizogran is not effective in relieving migraine attacks once in progress.

 

Instructions:

Dosage

• Adults:

  • Start with 0.5 mg daily, progressively increasing the dose.

  • The usual maintenance dose is 1.5 mg daily, which may be taken as a single dose at night or in three divided doses.

  • Dosage may be adjusted up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily.

  • Up to 3 mg may be given as a single daily dose.

• Children over 12 years:

  • Start with 0.5 mg daily, progressively increasing the dose.

  • The usual maintenance dose is 1.5 mg daily, usually as a divided dose.

  • Use of higher doses is not recommended. 

• Elderly:

  • No specific dosage adjustments are necessary for elderly patients. 

Administration

• Take the tablet orally.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew or crush the tablet.

• Can be taken with or without food. 

Storage

• Store at room temperature, below 30°C.

• Protect from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
