Content

• Active Ingredient: Sodium Chloride 0.9% w/v (9 mg/mL)
• Formulation: Sterile, non-pyrogenic, isotonic intravenous solution
• Volume: 500 mL per container

Indication
Infusol NS 0.9% Injection is indicated for:

• Fluid and Electrolyte Replenishment: To restore and maintain salt and extracellular fluid levels
• Hydration: For patients requiring intravenous hydration
• Drug Dilution: As a diluent for intravenous administration of compatible drugs
• Irrigation: For cleansing tissues, body cavities, wounds, or irrigation of catheters during surgical procedures

Instructions

• Administration Route: Intravenous (IV) infusion
• Preparation:
  • Ensure the solution is clear and free from particles before use
  • Warm to room temperature if stored under refrigeration
• Dosage:
  • Adults: 500–1000 mL per day, administered at a rate of 300–500 mL/hr (approximately 75–125 drops per minute)
  • Children: 20–100 mL per kg of body weight per 24 hours, depending on age and clinical condition
• Administration:
  • Use sterile and non-pyrogenic equipment
  • Prime the infusion set to prevent air embolism
  • Do not remove the unit from overwrap until ready for use
  • Administer immediately following the insertion of the infusion set
• Precautions:
  • Monitor for signs of fluid overload, especially in patients with heart or kidney conditions
  • Use with caution in patients with hypertension, edema, or electrolyte imbalances
  • Not recommended for use in patients with hypernatremia or hyperchloremia
