Indications (Uses)

Ificipro 500mg Tablet is indicated for:
  • Respiratory Tract Infections: Including pneumonia and exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Both uncomplicated and complicated UTIs, including acute pyelonephritis and cystitis.
  • Gastrointestinal Infections: Such as traveler's diarrhea.
  • Genital Tract Infections: Including gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis, epididymo-orchitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Including those caused by susceptible organisms.
  • Bone and Joint Infections: Including osteomyelitis.
  • Sepsis: Bloodstream infections.
  • Prophylaxis: In immunocompromised patients to prevent infections.
  • Selective Intestinal Decontamination: In immunosuppressed patients.


Instructions (How to Use)
  • Dosage:
    • Respiratory Tract Infections & Complicated UTIs: 250–500 mg twice daily.
    • Acute, Uncomplicated UTIs: 125 mg twice daily or 250 mg once daily.
    • Cystitis in Premenopausal Women & Acute, Uncomplicated Gonorrhea: 250 mg as a single dose.
    • Severe, Life-threatening Infections: 750 mg twice daily.
    • Renal Impairment: Adjust dosage based on creatinine clearance.
  • Administration: Take with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not take with antacids, iron supplements, or dairy products.
  • Precautions:
    • Discontinue use if tendon pain occurs.
    • Use with caution in patients with a history of cerebral arteriosclerosis or epilepsy.
    • Ensure adequate hydration during treatment.
    • Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy.
