Indications (Uses)
Hyzaar 100/12.5mg Tablet is indicated for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): For the treatment of hypertension to lower blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarction.
• Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH): To reduce the risk of stroke in hypertensive patients with LVH.

Instructions (How to Use)

• Dosage:
  • Hypertension: The usual starting dose is 50/12.5 mg once daily. If blood pressure remains uncontrolled after about 3 weeks of therapy, the dosage may be increased to 100/25 mg once daily.
  • Hypertensive Patients with LVH: Initiate treatment with 50/12.5 mg once daily. If additional blood pressure reduction is needed, increase the dose to 100/12.5 mg, followed by 100/25 mg once daily.
• Administration: Take the tablet by mouth with or without food, usually once daily.
• Precautions:
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of sulfonamide allergy.
  • Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes periodically during treatment.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
