Content (Ingredients)

• Active Ingredients: Losartan Potassium 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg per tablet.

• Formulation: Yellow, oval-shaped, film-coated tablets with "717" embossed on one side and plain on the other.

Indications (Uses)
Hyzaar 50/12.5mg Tablet is indicated for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): For the treatment of hypertension in patients for whom combination therapy is appropriate.
• Left Ventricular Hypertrophy: To reduce the risk of stroke in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy

Instructions (How to Use)

• Dosage:
  • Hypertension: The usual starting dose is one tablet (50/12.5 mg) once daily. The dosage can be increased after 3 weeks of therapy to a maximum of 100/25 mg once daily as needed to control blood pressure.
  • Hypertensive Patients with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy: Initiate treatment with one tablet (50/12.5 mg) once daily. If additional blood pressure reduction is needed, increase the dose to one tablet (100/12.5 mg) once daily, followed by one tablet (100/25 mg) once daily.
• Administration: Hyzaar can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a drink of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet.
• Precautions:
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of sulfonamide allergy.
  • Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes periodically during treatment.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
