Content (Ingredients):

• Active Ingredient: Telmisartan 40 mg per tablet
• Inactive Ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other excipients

Indications (Uses):
Hovid Telmisartan 40mg Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential Hypertension: Treatment of high blood pressure in adults.
• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Reduction of cardiovascular morbidity in adults with:
  • Manifest atherothrombotic cardiovascular disease (history of coronary heart disease, stroke, or peripheral arterial disease).
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus with documented target organ damage

Instructions (How to Use):

• Dosage: The usual starting dose is 40 mg once daily. Blood pressure response is dose-related over the range of 20 to 80 mg. Most of the antihypertensive effect is apparent within 2 weeks, and maximal reduction is generally attained after 4 weeks.
• Administration: Take the tablet orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not chew or crush.
• Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for the next dose. Do not double doses.
• Precautions:
  • Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters .
  • Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, renal artery stenosis, or those on dialysis .
  • Monitor for signs of hyperkalemia, especially in patients with renal impairment or those taking potassium supplements .
  • Avoid concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment
