Formulation: Film-coated tablet.
Indications
Famotidine 20mg Tablet is indicated for:
-
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Relief of heartburn and acid indigestion.

Peptic Ulcers: Treatment and prevention of duodenal and gastric ulcers.
-
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Management of pathological hypersecretory conditions.
-
Helicobacter pylori Eradication: Part of combination therapy to eradicate H. pylori infection.
Instructions for Use
-
Administration: For oral use only. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break it.

Dosage:
-
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): 20 mg once daily, preferably in the evening.
-
Peptic Ulcers: 20 mg twice daily for 4–8 weeks.

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: 20 mg twice daily, adjusted according to clinical response.
-
Helicobacter pylori Eradication: 20 mg twice daily as part of combination therapy.

Precautions:
-
Avoid taking with or within 14 days of stopping monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
-
Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures.
-
Monitor for signs of serotonin syndrome, especially when used with other serotonergic drugs.

Discontinuation should be gradual to minimize withdrawal symptoms.

Use with caution in elderly patients and those with hepatic impairment.
