VANCORIN INJECTION contains vancomycin hydrochloride, an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections.
Indications:

• Septicemia: Treatment of bloodstream infections.
• Infective Endocarditis: Treatment of infections of the heart valves.
• Skin and Skin Structure Infections: Treatment of severe skin infections.
• Bone Infections: Treatment of bone infections.
• Lower Respiratory Tract Infections: Treatment of infections in the lungs.

Instructions:

1. Dosage: The dosage varies based on the infection and patient condition. For adults, it is typically 2 g divided either as 0.5 g every 6 hours or 1 g every 12 hours. For pediatric patients (1 month and older), it is 10 mg/kg per dose given every 6 hours.
2. Administration: Administer the injection slowly over 60 minutes or more to reduce the risk of infusion reactions.
3. Consistency: Take the medication at the same time each day.
4. Adherence: Do not miss doses, as this can increase the risk of bacterial resistance.
