Content
- Active Ingredient: Propranolol hydrochloride 10 mg per tablet

Indication
Inderal 10mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
- Hypertension: To lower high blood pressure
- Angina Pectoris: To manage chest pain
- Post-Myocardial Infarction: For long-term prophylaxis after recovery from acute myocardial infarction
- Cardiac Arrhythmias: To control most forms of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Migraine Prophylaxis: To prevent migraine headaches
- Essential Tremor: To manage involuntary shaking
- Anxiety: To relieve situational and generalized anxiety symptoms, particularly those of somatic type
- Thyrotoxicosis: As an adjunctive management of thyrotoxicosis and thyrotoxic crisis
- Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: To manage this condition
- Pheochromocytoma: In the peri-operative management of pheochromocytoma (with an alpha-blocker)
Instructions
- Dosage:
- Hypertension: Starting dose of 80 mg twice a day; may be increased at weekly intervals according to response. The usual dose range is 160–320 mg per day, not exceeding 640 mg per day.
- Angina, Anxiety, Migraine, Essential Tremor: Starting dose of 40 mg two or three times daily; may be increased by the same amount at weekly intervals according to patient response. An adequate response is usually seen in the range of 80–160 mg/day for anxiety, migraine, and essential tremor, and 120–240 mg/day for angina.
- Arrhythmias, Thyrotoxicosis, Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy, Pheochromocytoma: Dosage should be individualized based on clinical response and tolerability.
- Administration: Take tablets orally, preferably 1 hour before or 3 hours after meals to enhance absorption. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush.
- Monitoring: Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended during treatment.
- Discontinuation: Do not abruptly discontinue therapy, as this may exacerbate angina or precipitate myocardial infarction. Gradual dose reduction is advised.
- Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
- Monitor for signs of bradycardia, hypotension, and heart failure.
- Avoid use in patients with asthma or a history of bronchospasm.
- Caution in diabetic patients, as beta-blockers may mask hypoglycemic symptoms.
- Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
- Use with caution during breastfeeding; consult a healthcare provider.
