• Appearance: White to off-white, round, flat tablets, embossed with “30” on one face and “ACTOS” on the other. 

 Indications

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults:

  • Monotherapy: In patients for whom metformin is inappropriate due to contraindications or intolerance.

  • Dual Therapy: In combination with metformin or a sulphonylurea.

  • Triple Therapy: In combination with metformin and a sulphonylurea.

  • Combination with Insulin: In patients with insufficient glycaemic control on insulin for whom metformin is inappropriate. 

 Instructions

• Dosage:

  • Adults: Starting dose is 15 mg or 30 mg once daily. The dose may be increased in increments up to 45 mg once daily.

  • Combination with Insulin: If hypoglycaemia occurs, the dose of insulin should be decreased by 10% to 25%.

• Administration: Take orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow tablets with a glass of water.
