• Active Ingredient: 0.5 mg colchicine

Indications:

• Acute Gout: Used for the relief of acute gout attacks. It works by reducing the inflammatory reaction to urate crystals.
• Prophylaxis of Gout: Used to prevent recurrent gout attacks during the initial months of treatment with allopurinol or uricosuric drugs.

Instructions:

• Dosage for Acute Gout Attack:
  • Initial Dose: 1 mg (2 tablets) to start, followed by 500 micrograms (1 tablet) after 1 hour.
  • Maintenance Dose: No further tablets should be taken for 12 hours. After 12 hours, treatment can resume with a maximum dose of 500 micrograms (1 tablet) every 8 hours until symptoms are relieved.
  • Maximum Treatment: A total of 6 mg (12 tablets) should not be exceeded in a single course. Another course should not be started for at least 3 days (72 hours) after completing a course.
• Dosage for Prophylaxis: 500 micrograms twice daily. The treatment duration should be decided based on factors such as flare frequency and gout duration.
