• Active Ingredient: Apixaban 2.5 mg
• Excipients: Titanium dioxide, Ferric oxide yellow

Indications:

• Prevention of Venous Thromboembolic Events (VTE): Used after hip or knee replacement surgery.
• Prevention of Stroke and Systemic Embolism: For adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and one or more risk factors (e.g., prior stroke, age ≥75 years, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, symptomatic heart failure).
• Treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE): Also used to prevent recurrence.

Instructions:

• Dosage for VTE Prevention: 2.5 mg taken orally twice daily. The initial dose should be taken 12 to 24 hours after surgery.
• Dosage for NVAF: 2.5 mg taken orally twice daily in patients with NVAF and at least two of the following characteristics: age ≥80 years, body weight ≤60 kg, or serum creatinine ≥1.5 mg/dL.
• Dosage for DVT/PE Treatment: 10 mg taken orally twice daily for the first 7 days, followed by 5 mg taken orally twice daily. For prevention of recurrent DVT/PE, 2.5 mg taken orally twice daily should be initiated after 6 months of treatment with apixaban 5 mg twice daily or another anticoagulant.
