Indications:

• Edema: Associated with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease (e.g., nephrotic syndrome), and acute pulmonary edema.
• Hypertensive Emergencies: As an adjunct therapy.
• Fluid Retention: Due to other medical conditions or medications.

Instructions:

• Administration: Given via intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection.
• Dosage: For adults, the typical initial dose is 20-40 mg via IV/IM. The dose may be increased under medical supervision.
• Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, electrolyte imbalances, low blood pressure, or dehydration. Avoid rapid IV injection to reduce the risk of ototoxicity (hearing loss).
• Side Effects: Increased urination, dizziness, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances (e.g., hypokalemia, hyponatremia), dehydration, and in rare cases, ototoxicity and allergic reactions.
