Each 1 mL of Maxitrol Suspension N contains:
  • Neomycin sulfate: 3.5 mg (equivalent to neomycin 3.5 mg)
  • Polymyxin B sulfate: 6,000 IU
  • Dexamethasone: 0.1% (1 mg)
  • Benzalkonium chloride: 0.004% (preservative)
  • Inactives: Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide (to adjust pH), hypromellose 2910 0.5%, polysorbate 20, purified water, sodium chloride
Indications:
Maxitrol Suspension N is indicated for the treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions where a corticosteroid is needed, and there is a risk or presence of bacterial infection. It is commonly used for conditions such as:
  • Uveitis
  • Eye injuries
  • Chemical burns
  • Post-operative inflammation
Instructions:
  1. Shake well before use.
  2. For ocular use: Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze a drop into the pocket. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Dosage: Typically, 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac(s) 4-6 times daily. In severe cases, it may be used hourly and then tapered as the inflammation decreases.
  4. Precautions: Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface to prevent contamination. Do not use if you have a fungal or viral infection in your eyes.
