Content:

• Active Ingredient: Calcium gluconate (94 mg/mL or 0.21 mmol/mL)2.
• Excipients: Calcium D-saccharate tetrahydrate (0.02 mmol/mL).
• Total Calcium Content: 0.23 mmol/mL.
• Appearance: Clear, colorless to light brown aqueous solution.

Indications:

• Acute symptomatic hypocalcemia.
• Hypocalcemia related to hypoparathyroidism.
• Hypocalcemia due to rapid growth or pregnancy.
• Hyperkalemia (to antagonize cardiac toxicity).
• Neonatal tetany.
• Fluoride poisoning.
• Prevention of hypocalcemia in exchange transfusions.

Instructions:

• Dosage for Adults: Initial dose is usually 10 mL (2.25 mmol of calcium). Subsequent doses should be adjusted based on serum calcium levels.
• Dosage for Pediatric Patients: Dose depends on the severity of hypocalcemia and symptoms. For severe symptoms, initial doses may be higher.
• Administration: Intravenous or intramuscular injection. For intravenous use, the patient should be monitored closely, including heart rate or ECG.
• Follow-Up: Intravenous therapy should be followed by oral administration if indicated.
