Contents:
Deprim Oral Suspension contains sulfamethoxazole 200mg and trimethoprim 40mg per 5mL. It's a pink, raspberry-flavored suspension.
Indications:
Deprim has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity and is indicated for treating various infections, including:

• Gastrointestinal tract infections: Cholera, Shigellosis, Travellers' diarrhoea, and enterotoxigenic E. coli.
• Genital tract infections: Gonorrhoea, chancroid, and granuloma inguinale (venereum).
• Urinary tract infections: Effective antibacterial treatment.
• Respiratory tract infections: Otitis media, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, and Pneumocystis jirovecii.
• Other: Toxoplasmosis and nocardiosis.

Instructions:

• Dosage: Typically administered at 12-hour intervals, ideally after morning and evening meals. The dosage varies by age group.
  • Adults and children over 12 years: 20 mL every 12 hours.
  • 6 to 16 years: 10 mL every 12 hours.
  • 6 months to 5 years: 5 mL every 12 hours.
  • 6 weeks to 5 months: 2.5 mL every 12 hours.
• Maintenance: Ensure adequate fluid intake.
• Duration: For acute infections, administer for at least 5 days or until the patient remains symptom-free for at least 2 days. If no improvement after 7 days, reassess.
• Elderly and renal impairment: Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
