Indications:
  • Suppression of Rh isoimmunization: Used in Rh(D)-negative individuals to prevent the formation of antibodies against Rh(D)-positive red blood cells.
  • Pregnancy and obstetric conditions: Routine antepartum and postpartum Rh prophylaxis.
  • Incompatible transfusions: Prevents isoimmunization in Rh(D)-negative individuals receiving Rh(D)-positive blood.
  • Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP): Used to raise platelet counts in Rh(D)-positive adults with chronic ITP.
Instructions:
  1. Administration: Injected intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) by a healthcare professional.
  2. Dosage: Typically, a single dose of 300 micrograms (1500 IU) is administered.
  3. Timing: Administered before or early after exposure to Rh(D)-positive red blood cells.
