Indications 

Apo-Propranolol 40mg Tablets are indicated for:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)

• Essential tremor (shaking of hands, head, or voice)

• Migraine prophylaxis (prevention of migraines)

• Thyrotoxicosis (excess thyroid hormone)

• Pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumor)

• Hypertrophic subaortic stenosis (heart muscle disease)

• Post-myocardial infarction (after heart attack) 

Instructions 

• Dosage: The typical starting dose for hypertension is 40 mg twice daily, which may be increased according to patient response. 

• Administration:

  • Take the tablet orally with a full glass of water.

  • It can be taken with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush. 

• Precautions:

  • Do not stop taking this medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may worsen your condition.

  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of asthma, diabetes, or liver disease.

  • Monitor your blood pressure and heart rate regularly during treatment.

• Side Effects:

  • Common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and cold extremities.

  • Serious side effects are rare but may include slow heart rate, shortness of breath, or swelling of the ankles.

  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing.
