Indication
HTN. Reduce risk of stroke in patients w/ HTN & left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Diabetic nephropathy w/ elevated serum creatinine & proteinuiria in patient w/ type 2 diabetes & history of HTN.
 
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
 
Drug interaction
Decreased conc by rifampin. Increased conc by fluconazole. Increased serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics, K supplements or K-containing salt substitutes. Reduced lithium excretion. Diminished antihypertensive effects by NSAIDs including selective COX-2 inhibitors.
