Indication
Prophylaxis of surgical infection in patients undergoing prostate surgery, Bone and joint infections, Complicated intra-abdominal infections, Skin and skin structure infections, complicated, Bacterial meningitis, Empiric therapy for febrile neutropenic patients, Nosocomial pneumonia, Complicated urinary tract infections, Pseudomonal lung infections in cystic fibrosis.
 
Instruction
Administer via deep slow IM/IV injection.
 
Drug interaction
May increase nephrotoxicity of aminoglycosides. May diminish therapeutic effect of BCG, typhoid vaccine, Na picosulfate. May increase anticoagulant effect of vit K antagonists (e.g. warfarin). May increase serum level w/ probenecid.
