• Active Ingredient: Each tablet contains montelukast sodium, a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotrienes, substances that can cause narrowing and swelling of airways in the lungs.

Indications:
Xepa Altra 4mg Chewable Tablet is used for:

• • Chronic treatment and prophylaxis of asthma in children aged 2 to 5 years.
  • Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in children aged 2 years and older.
  • Relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in children aged 2 years and older.
  • As an alternative treatment to low-dose inhaled corticosteroids for children aged 2 to 5 years with mild persistent asthma who cannot use inhaled corticosteroids.

Instructions:

• • For children aged 2 to 5 years, administer one 4mg chewable tablet daily in the evening.
  • Tablets should be chewed before swallowing.
  • If taken with food, montelukast should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food.
  • Do not use montelukast to treat acute asthma attacks; always have a short-acting inhaled beta-agonist available for such situations.
  • Regular follow-up with the doctor is recommended to assess asthma control.
