Indications

Clopistad is indicated for secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events in adults, including:

• Following myocardial infarction (from a few days up to 35 days), ischaemic stroke (from 7 days to 6 months), or peripheral arterial disease

• Acute coronary syndrome: both NSTEMI/unstable angina and STEMI (especially in patients receiving thrombolytics), usually in combination with aspirin

• High‑risk TIA or minor stroke, within 24 hours of onset, combined with aspirin

• Atrial fibrillation patients at moderate/high risk for thromboembolism who are unsuitable for vitamin K antagonists, in combination with aspirin
   

Instructions

• Dosage (Adults):

  • Maintenance: 75 mg once daily, with or without food

  • Acute coronary syndromes: initial loading dose of 300 mg (or 600 mg in PCI‑intended <75 years), then 75 mg daily; in STEMI, combine with aspirin and thrombolytics; skip loading if >75 years 

• Administration: Swallow whole with water; may be taken with or without food 

• Missed Dose: If < 12 hrs late, take it right away; if > 12 hrs late, skip—do not double dose
