Indications:

• Used to treat various bacterial infections, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections (upper and lower)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Genitourinary tract infections

  • Diphtheria

  • Gonorrhoea

  • Legionnaires' disease

  • Listeria infections

  • Pertussis (whooping cough)

  • Pharyngitis

  • Rheumatic fever prophylaxis

  • Syphilis
    
     

    Instructions:

  • Dosage for Adults:

    • General infections: 400 mg every 6 hours.

    • Severe infections (e.g., gonorrhoea): 800 mg every 6 hours for 7 days.

    • Legionnaires' disease: 800–1,600 mg every 6 hours.

    • Rheumatic fever prophylaxis: 400 mg every 12 hours.

    • Syphilis: 800 mg every 6 hours for 15 days (early) or 30 days (late).

  • Dosage for Children:

    • 7.5–12.5 mg/kg every 6 hours or 15–25 mg/kg every 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection.

  • Administration:

    • Reconstitute the powder with water as per the instructions on the label.

    • Ensure the suspension is well mixed before administration.

    • May be taken with or without food.
