Ketotifen Fumarate
 
Indication

• Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma

• Treatment of allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis

 
Instruction

• Adults: 1 mg twice daily with food. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 2 mg twice daily.

• Children over 2 years: 1 mg twice daily.

• Note: For patients prone to sedation, it's recommended to start with 0.5–1 mg at night for the first few days.

• Administration: Oral; tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably at the same time each day

 
Drug interaction

• Sedatives, Hypnotics, Other Antihistamines: May enhance sedative effects.

• Alcohol: May increase CNS depressant effects.

• Oral Antidiabetic Agents: Concurrent use is contraindicated due to the risk of thrombocytopenia.
